911 Operator/Emergency Services Dispatcher

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role at the Campbell County Consolidated Dispatch Center located in Newport, Kentucky. The 911 Operator is responsible for fielding emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching the appropriate response units, and providing pre-arrival instructions to callers, among other related duties.

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills

  • Ability to handle high-stress situations calmly and effectively

  • Proficient in general computer skills

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities

  • Must be able to pass a background check, polygraph, and drug screening

  • High School Diploma or GED is required

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive starting pay 

  • For applicants with prior 911 dispatching experience, pay commensurate with experience

  • Enrollment in Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (Retirement)

  • New hires will earn 80 hours of vacation time annually

  • Short-term & long-term sick leave

  • Total of 15 paid holidays, including the employee’s birthday

  • Low cost medical, dental, and vision insurance offered with an employer funded health savings account

  • Annual stipend offered if insurance is waived

  • Basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance at no employee cost
